Classic Mysteries

The modern Detective Story arose with Edgar Allan Poe's Dupin, and went on to blossom into one of the most popular literary genres ever developed.

Currently offered are an anthology of Poe's three Dupin mysteries (with two other Poe puzzlers), the criminal adventures of A. J. Raffles, Scotland Yard consultant Hamilton Cleek, the logical crime-solving skills of The Thinking Machine, the justice-seeking Uncle Abner, November Joe of the Canadian forests, amateur railway detective Thorpe Hazell, the enigmatic Old Man in the Corner, the illustrious Father Brown, the blind detectives Max Carrados and Thornley Colton, and the greatest detective of all: Sherlock Holmes.

Two of the G. K. Chesterton volumes include mysteries: volume 1 includes The Trees of Pride, while volume 2 includes the off-beat mystery collections The Club of Queer Trades and The Man Who Knew Too Much.
